Blog REVIVAL!!

The unused boxing wax that we used to box our dental casts during prosthodontic lab. Material recycled =P

ALOHA!! I've been talking about updating my blog for a loooooooong while but din't really have time to do so. Too busy with my student lifestyle. (DUH!) Lol. Guess what. I'm now in the magnificent library of Manipal University. It's really a perfect place for study because even whispering is not allowed. Hehe. Feels good having nothing to do after exam, sitting in the library, typing and listening to soothing music. Ahhh.. What a pleasure of life =]
Library in Manipal University, Manipal.

U might ask, what are you doing in the library then since you finished your exam? Hoho. It's because i have my loved one sitting beside me, preparing for his exam tomorrow. I'll give him my support just by sitting beside him and hear him breathing. Yes i never really show PDA (Public Display Affection), but i just cant help it. God made us meet, know and fall for each other here in Manipal. Till now i still thank God very much, that He has gave me breath, and sent someone like him into my life so that i can hear him breath.

We ought to be the role model for couples nowadays. We promised each other to put God first in our life, in our relationship. Like what pastor said to us, it's God who attracts us to each other; when we love each other more than God, the attraction is lost, and the relationship breaks. I guess that's what happening to Christian couples nowadays? *shrug* Pastor also told us: when you hold hands, hold hands and pray. Pray for a stronger and God-centered relationship. And ask God to bind and seal our hands and hearts together. Because anything that God seals, nobody can break. =]

My chipped-off edentulous cast T.T                   Maxillary Lateral Incisors

Well life have been treating me well, occationally some lemons, but most of the time it gives me honey. =D Just finished with my first sessionals by the way. Had some discouragements in between, too busy dating(LOL padan muka lah bah tu), and i admit that i didn't do my best. But God is faithful. My result wasnt GOOD, but wasnt bad either. =] Shall work harder next sessionals. There's always a second chance. But now, goyang kaki tunggu CUTI!!! Yes holiday is in less than a week time!! My darling Malaysia here i come!! Christmas Sales please wait for me!!! Mummy be ready to cook NICE NICE FOOD!!!!!! Gosh i'm so so so so excited to go back HOME. Home is always a better place for you to rest your busy soul. Don't you think so? =)
YUM!!!!!

Oh ya before i forgot, i want to post a small update about my church retreat to Goa, a beautiful place for us to experience God. Hehe. It is about 5 hours away from Manipal by train, and that was the first time i experienced the train ride in INDIA. Hmmmmmmmmm... It was.. a whole new experience, and if possible, i wouldn't wanna hop into a sleeper train anymore. Here are some pictures taken during the trip, and God's presence was so strong that we were all blessed =] (and it was the 1st time i managed to catch both sunrise and sunset in a day with him, walking along the seashore, enjoying the sea breeze. That was our 1st month anniversary *heart*)

In the train station. @@ We had to wait for 3 hours for the train to come, which made it 2 am.

We took the sleeper train, and believe me, it looks much more nicer from the outside.

But it was worth it. This was our camp site in Goa---> ASHIRVAD, Fr. Peter Verhaelen Memorial.

We visited The Church of St. Francis Xavier, Goa

Us, modelling the UNSTOPPABLE camp T-Shirt.

Revolution of LOVE

Thursday, August 26, 2010

REVOLUTION
is not an activity, it's an attitude;
not a system, but a spirit;
not program, but purpose,
not a style, but a lifestyle! ----- Acts Campus

I'm loving this. Really. Everyone should have the spirit of revolution inside him/her. To have the attitude of change. To have a lifestyle of love. To have a purpose in life. To live better for God.

Hi Mr. Cadaver =]

Thursday, August 12, 2010
"Gosh we're late!!" Folding our umbrellas, me and Lynn rushed into our anatomy dissection hall.
"Are we gonna dissect anything today?"
"Let's hope not. Haha."
Just as we stepped in the hall, as weird smell nearly chocked me to cough, i saw a human-shaped object lying on the dissection table. Beneath a long wide blue cloth. I finally realize it was Mr.Cadaver.
For a moment I just stood there by the entrance of the dissection hall. With my stomach churning inside.

*Churn* *churn* *churn*

I tried to overcome the funny feeling in my tummy and sat beside Mr.Cadaver. "Gosh! The smell!" i murmured. My Indian classmates were acting like they cant smell anything. As if they got flu.

"I find cadavers fascinating!!" One of my classmate told me, while her hands touching and stroking the cadaver's feet. "Relax! They were human like us," she tried to comfort me when she saw my face. My worried + tensed face. Worried that I might throw up my breakfast, although I was already hungry.

I know what you wanna say. "What?! U got hungry in the dissection hall?" Yea I was. In fact everybody was hungry. Shin Juey and Shawn even said that Mr.Cadaver smells like chicken ham. Excuse me? CHICKEN HAM??

Okay it gross because he smells like food, but you couldn't eat him. For a while I felt like throwing up. But I prayed. And brought myself to look at him.
And I saw his feet. Just like mine.
I saw his arms. Just like mine.
I saw his face. Been destroyed from continuous dissecting, but still, human face.
Just like mine.

I suddenly grew respect for him. God created him, just like us. He was a living soul, just like us. He could eat, laugh and talk, just like us. He was a living being. He was alive! And now he was lying there being dissect and cut up into pieces. Being examined and studied. He served as a model for us to study about ourselves. About God's wonderful creation.

God is complicated. He created such complicated beings like us. In his image. All the nerves and vessels and skin layers, can drive me crazy. Sorry God, my humble mind is not able to understand the complicated structures you have made. But by your grace God, by your grace, I can do it. I know I can.

Mr.Cadaver, aapse mil khar bahoot kutshi hui! (nice to meet you, in Hindi) I'm sorry that I was freaked out when I saw you. For you were a human just like me. But you are more respectful compared to me. What am I compared to you? You donated your earthly body for people to cut you up and study your internal structures! Not much people are willing to expose their inner-self to others. I respect and admire you, Mr.Cadaver. Till we meet again, I shall not puke when I see you. I promise.

India is EXCITING Part 2

Monday, August 2, 2010
1. Raining season in India is crazy. You'll have to bring an umbrella every where you go, even if you only wanna go out to tapao food. Because you'll never know when is it gonna rain. Oftenly it'll rain without any notifacation. Just in a snap of finger, you'll be wet within seconds.
All of us din't bring umbrella on the 1st day in Manipal. As a result, see the picture.
 We learnt our lessons. Haha.
I even have to bring my umbrella when going for a jog. This is the End Point, a beautiful, unpolluted place at the far end of Manipal University.
We've to squad down to protect ourselves from the crazy heavy rain, which is pouring from all different directions.

2. Transport in India very cheap compared to Malaysia. From Manipal to Mangalore takes about 2 hours, same as the time need for us to get to Mid Valley from KTT.
India : bus fare= Rs.40(non-AC, equiv. RM2.90) / Rs.65(AC, equiv. RM 4.60)
Malaysia: Taxi to KTM(4 people sharing, each = RM4.50) + KTM (RM5)= RM9.50
Non AC bus. LOL. This is kinda scary.

Other than that there're these mini 3-wheeled vehicles called "auto" here, in Thailand you call it "Tuk Tuk". It's just Rs.15 (RM 1.07, shared between 2 or 3 people)to go around Manipal. It's like going to Nilai College from KTT.

The interior view of an auto. Seriously, I'm impressed by their driving skills. They can get an A++ for that.

3. My favourite part, FOOD. Food in India is super big in portion and it's VERY cheap compared to food in Subang, KL and KK.
Also,we can find a big variety of cuisines here: Western, Chinese, Malay, and of course, Indian cuisine. I think it's because there're many students from abroad are studying here in Manipal =]
Nasi goreng kampung, Rs. 45. About RM3.20

This is called Potato Lover. Crispy potato wedges covered with a special sweet sauce. YUM! Rs.30 (RM2.15) for such a big portion is super cheap.

Indian cuisine. My friend Boon Loey ordered this for Rs.90. (RM6.30)Yoghurt + Tandoori chicken + Butter chicken + rice + thosai I think. Super filling.
Nasi goreng Pattaya. Rs. 50 (RM3.60)

There's Domino's and Subway here too. Don't think there's no food here and don't' stuff yourselves  with tons of food before coming!

Domino's Pork pepperoni and cheese pizza

I'm seriously in the danger of gaining weight here. T.T

4. Levi's Store is a common sight in India. Almost in every mall, there must be a Levi's Store, no matter it's Levi's Signature Store, Levi Strauss, etc. I cant defferentiate between them anyway. Any one who can help me clear this up is highly appreciated. =]
Plus point is that Levi's Jeans here is super cheap!!! I just got my very 1st Levi's Jeans with 40% off from the original price of Rs.1399 (approx. RM100. after discount is....... You do the math. XD)

Levi's is having 40% discount storewide!!!

5. Drivers in Indian honk everytime they feel like they wanted to. In Malaysia if we honk, it might be a very dangerous situation that matters life and death. But here they don't care. If you're in their way, "HONK"! If they wanna overtake you, "HONK"!! If they wanna attract attentions, "HONK"!!! If they wanna turn right, "HONK"; turn left, "HONK"!!!!

It's a severe sound pollution to our delicate ears, seriously. Especially when you're sitting right directly behind the bus driver. You better get a pair of earplugs or listen to your IPod. Else you might suffer from tinnitus or even become deaf.  I'm being serious here.

6. Ladies shoes here... Frankly to say, it's not nice at all. =[ At least they couldn't attract me (for anyone who knows me, I'm a crazy SHOEPAHOLIC. hahaha). It's too bad that i din't bring much shoes, especially formal shoes from Malaysia. Luckily we can wear sandals here to lectures and lab practicals. =P
Oh ya, girls, DO NOT bring heels if you are coming to study in Manipal. Everything is within walking distance; in another word, you'll have to walk whole day here and there. Unless you're rich enough to hire an auto everyday to class and everywhere else.
I brought my beautiful heels and i can't even wear it. Plus it's rainy season here, at the end of the day, your shoes will get very wet and muddy. Ewwww. Better wear CROCS. Hahaha.

Some random pictures:
India's aftermint. At 1st i liked it, but... it actually tasted funny. lol. We were eating in a restaurant called Basil near to our campus.
Our lecture hall. =]
A tree in the beautiful Endpoint.
We went to Mangalore, and Lynthia brought us to a good restaurant called Sizzler Ranch. Portion is crazy HUGE and the price is very very very very reasonable. =]
Waiting for bus to go back to Manipal.
Another restaurant called Hangyo Saiba. Serves nice western cuisine and ice-creams.(but the spaghetti was overcooked. It was so limp that it looked like the Chinese's yellow mee. LOL)

Okay gotta go study my Dental anatomy already. Tata!
P/S: Credits to Boon Loey, Shawn, Lynn, Christine, and me for the pictures =]
